Teacher Paula
We are excited to welcome Paula Robertson to Metzger Community Preschool!
Teacher Paula has a passion for working with young children, and it shows in the warm, inviting school environment she creates. She believes that the first years of school are vitally important because they lay the groundwork for creating life-long learners. Her teaching style focuses on play-based, child-directed learning, and she aims to help children develop important social and emotional skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. Prior to teaching at MCP, Teacher Paula was an elementary school teacher specializing in kindergarten and first grade. She fell in love with the co-operative preschool approach when her own son attended MCP. During that time, she witnessed the importance of parent involvement, the beauty of a co-op community, and the opportunities children had to explore the world around them. In her own words: “The moment we walked into the school, I knew we had found a special place”. Now, she is happy to be back at MCP as our teacher. Teacher Paula has an extensive background in elementary education and is familiar with the skills children need for a successful transition into kindergarten. She has completed rigorous university coursework in a variety of topics including child development, physical education, the arts (including visual, expressive, and musical), and curriculum courses in multiple subjects. Teacher Paula has experience working with diverse student populations and second language learners. |
