A Day at School
STARS DAILY ROUTINE
Free Play - Children choose from a variety of activities encouraging social interaction, cognitive development, emotional development, and muscular motor control.
Group Clean Up - As a group, we clean up equipment and get ready for the first Circle Time.
Circle - The teacher and children engage in activities that include stories, songs, conversation, drama activities, science exploration, and more.
Snack - Daily snacktime not only replenishes energy, but also offers a
time for conversation, social skills development, and opportunities to introduce
math and science topics.
Restroom Break - Everyone visits the restroom facilities and washes hands prior to Snack.
Snack - Daily snacktime not only replenishes energy, but also offers a time for conversation, social skills development, and opportunities to introduce math and science topics.
Outside Play - Outside Play is the time for the children to release active energy, develop social skills, experience science opportunities, and explore the outdoors.
Circle - During the last Circle Time, children participate in show-n-tell. Stories and songs are also part of this Circle TIme.

Table Time - The children are assigned to a different table each day. Throughout the week, they will get a chance to do an art project, a math activity, a literacy activity, and do a journal page with the teacher.
Free Choice Play Time - The children get to choose among a variety of activities designed to encourage social interaction, cognitive Snack - A small snack will be provided each day.

Circle/Closing - At the end of the day, one child will have the Sharing Bag. Instead of traditional Show-n-Tell, we have a Teach-n-Tell in which the child with the Sharing Bag teaches us three things about his or her sharing items. At the conclusion of sharing, we go around the circle so that everyone has an opportunity for questions and comments. To close out our day the children will have an opportunity to do some hands on quiet activities. They will have puzzles, books on cd's to listen to and books to look at to finish out their day.
