]]><![CDATA[Hallowe'en Parades]]>Tue, 25 Oct 2011 21:51:32 -0800http://www.metzgerpreschool.com/1/post/2011/10/halloween-parades.htmlDon't forget that this week in the Stars class on Thursday it is their Hallowe'en Parade!  Remember to have them dress up in their costumes with their trick or treat bags ready to do a little school trick or treat fun day!

Rockets will have their parade actually on Hallowe'en!  Remember to fill their brown paper bag with the hallowe'en treats for secret trick or treating!

I can barely believe it! Time has gone by so fast! With the end of Summer coming near our classes are filling up quickly, we only have a few spots left in each of our classes so spread the word to your friends and family who have preschoolers! Don't let them miss out on the fun things we do every fall!

-Sign up for the cultural passes through Washington County Libraries:

- Check with city websites for free concerts and events
- Visit local Farmer's Markets
- Pick local berries
- Visit parks in Wilsonville, Tualatin and Beaverton that have free and fun water features

- Sign up for Kids Bowl Free

]]><![CDATA[Things are changing...]]>Thu, 28 Apr 2011 13:14:48 -0800http://www.metzgerpreschool.com/1/post/2011/04/things-are-changing.htmlWe are so excited to announce a new and improved preschool program to better fit our families needs and schedules!

Our Rockets and Pre-K curriculi will be combined for the 2011 - 2012 school year in order to create a longer, more rich school day! Classes are M,W,F 9am - 1pm and students will need to be 4 by September 1st.

Here is a sampling of what Pre-K has in store for your child:

In the Rockets/Pre-K class, we are more academically focused then in our Stars class. The day starts off with "table time" in which the children start their day with an academic activity such as art, math, literacy or journaling. The classroom is then opened up for free-choice playtime. The children are free to play with their peers. After free play, there is an academically-themed circle time: Monday Math, Wacky Wednesdays and Alphabet Friday. Our day also includes snack time, outdoor playtime, lunch time and an ending circle time. Throughout the year, your child will gain a solid knowledge of the letters of the alphabet and their phonetic sounds. We will focus on rhyming and also sounding out and spelling simple three- or four-letter words. Many of our children are reading by the end of the year. The children also do simple math equations (addition and subtraction) as well as patterning. This program is based on each child's needs and progresses with the child's development level.

WE ARE SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS NEW CHANGE AND HOPE THAT YOU WILL BE TOO! PLEASE PASS THIS ALONG TO YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS!
Not only is this a great new program but we are the most affordable Pre-K program in the Tigard area.

We are now enrolling for the 2011-12 school year.
